Due to Wilton CERT's extensive training in crowd control, traffic management, safety, and emergency communications, Wilton CERT is activated several times a year for planned community events. Our volunteers work alongside Wilton Police and Fire to make every event run safely and smoothly.

Supporting the annual motorcycle tribute ride honoring 9/11 responders and fallen heroes.
Pumpkin Parade
Safety and pedestrian management at Wilton's beloved autumn Pumpkin Parade.
Sidewalk Street Fair
First aid coverage and crowd safety at Wilton's popular downtown street fair.
Mutual Aid Events
Assisting neighboring towns like Stamford with large-scale events such as the Downtown Balloon Parade.
What CERT Does at Events
CERT volunteers are deployed under the direction of Wilton's Emergency Management Director and work in coordination with the Police and Fire Departments. Every activation is a real-world exercise that sharpens our skills while serving the community.
Traffic & Detour Management — Safely directing motorists and pedestrians around road closures and event zones.
First Aid Presence — Trained volunteers ready to respond to medical needs on-site.
Communications — Maintaining radio contact with EOC and first responders throughout the event.
Crowd Safety — Monitoring crowd density and identifying potential hazards before they escalate.
